Arts Beats and Eats

This weekend Elena and I went to Kelleys island while Jason was at a bachelor party golf weekend. we all had a goodtime but missed each other so we decided to do some family fun at Arts Beats and Eats in our very own downtown... here is a shot of Jason and Leni on our walk back.

Library time!

Elena loves the library. New toys lots of books... loads of kids. well today is a quiet one in the library. only one other little girl but they are getting along famously. while she is playing it gives me a chance to catch up with my emails on my Droid (which I am loving by the way). here is a pic from today. don't ask me why she has one shoe on... she can be such a character sometimes!

we went to Hudson randomly during the week and got to see baba in action with her ladies. Leni had a blast eating pancakes, icecream, and whatever else all the ladies gave her. once the kids started rolling in Leni was in heaven and didn't want to leave! she thought a party was starting! thanks for a good time Hudson middle school!

A morning at the pool

this morning we randomly went to the Troy pool with a friend. we have never been there but we very pleasantly surprised! it was so kid,friendly. elena loved it! we may even go back after her nap this afternoon.

Swimming at GolfFish

It was 98 degrees - we HAD to go swimming. But even swimming outside was too hot for Leni, so we headed to GoldFish to have an inside dip with cousin Max. Elena was excited and not scared of getting in the water like sometimes in the past. We decided we're going to try and start taking her for lessons so she gets more comfortable in the water. We're lucky to be surrounded by pools and lakes, so she better get used to being a little fishy.

The band is back together again...

One Week Vacation

Elena and I (Mary) are on Kelleys Island for one week! So far it's been so fun, but very hot! Luckily we had a little rain that cooled things off, so the weather is perfect now. We have been to the beach and the park with Leni everyday! She has been having so much fun, but still misses Da-Da. Everytime she picks up my phone she says "Da-Da?". It is cute but a little sad too - We miss you Da-Da! Cant wait to see you!

We have some internet access at the house.... someone has an unsecured network in the neighborhood, so sometimes I am able to check my email and Facebook, but it has been unpredictable. right now I am in town where they have a wireless connection free for people to use. Here is some pictures of of the week so far.... right now we have been relaxing and having fun, but soon we will be working hard in preparing for the big Vizmeg 4th of July bash! We even have relatives coming in from Europe! Big shout out to all my cousins!! Cant wait to see you all! Bring your bathingsuits too guys - we will go jetskiing and boating for sure! Oh yeah, if you couldnt find anywhere to stay, feel free to bring a tent if you want. We will fit people where we can...

Visit from Grandma Bistra

About 2 weeks ago we had a visit from Baba Bistra. We had a wonderful time. Elena and Baba went to the zoo, ate icecream and just hung out outside! Elena got a new sandbox and she is obsessed with it. It was a really nice time. Plus, it gave me some time to work on some projects around the house uninterrupted!

Look, I'm still pretty new, so I'm understandably bad with remembering birthdays.

My dad was supposed to remind me about my Aunt Megan's b-day, but he obviously forgot.

We headed over to Aunt Megan's and Uncle Aden's for some finger lick'n ribs, spicy cake and to celebrate. Not since our family trip to florida (6 weeks) have we all been together for some fun. It was super cute seeing Elena and Lila play with each other, what a difference just 6 weeks makes - Elena was so much more social/engaged... they are bound to be best buds. Before we left, Elena and Lila gave each other hugs and kisses... Elena said "Bye", Lila said "Miss You." Happy Birthday Ma / Grandma! Hope you enjoy the herb... I mean herbs we got you.

Hoppy Easter Everybunny

Elena had a wonderful second easter. Her easter basket was full of cereal bars, cheese puffs (both her favorites!) and a toy gardening kit. She sported a new dress and a new 'do!! Finally her hair is getting long enough for a ponytail.... although she still has the mullet. It was a long morning with wearing a dress, going to church, and eating a fancy brunch, but she was such a well behaved girl the whole time! We were proud!

Who's the A-Hole?

Who's the funny man that requires 200 parts and pieces and 48 steps to construct a Little Tikes plastic toy car for toddlers? I had NO idea what I was getting myself into. It's a plastic toy with 4 plastic wheels for goodness sakes - Yet, it requires 2+ hours, a drill, hammer, wrench, sweat, swearing and tears to successfully put together. (A few times I got close to punching the smile right of its red face - but I held it together in front of Leni) Hopefully we get some good millage out of it this spring/summer. Thanks grandma/grandpa for Elena's first set of wheels - It's well built and american made - honk! honk!
